Kaluga plant "PSMA Rus" on March 2, 2018 launched a full cycle of production of commercial vans Peugeot Expert and Citroen Jumpy. They will complement the production of the current models of the PSA Group: the Citroen C4 and Peugeot 408 sedans. By the middle of the year, with the launch of the Citroen SpaceTourer and Peugeot Traveler passenger minibuses, the number will increase to six. All cars will be assembled on one line, the press service of the PSA Group reports. As noted, the decision to expand the range of cars produced in Russia is in line with the strategic plan "Push to pass" and is aimed at strengthening the PSA Group's position in the Russian market. The launch of a new generation of Peugeot Expert and Citroen Jumpy in Kaluga was another step in upgrading PSMA Rus's facilities, which confirms the PSA Group's commitment to the development of localized production in Russia. "Localization is, above all, increasing the competitiveness of products. This is why the PSA Group has been actively working on expanding the model range and increasing the level of localization for the last several years. Peugeot and Citroen in the LCV segment is the highly competitive and most profitable product of the PSA Group worldwide. We are confident that the local assembly of commercial vans will allow our brands to strengthen their positions in the Russian market. The cost of Peugeot Expert and Citroen Jumpy of local production ranges from 1 million 469 thousand 900 rub to 1 million 759 thousand 990 rub for both models. Commercial vans Peugeot Expert and Citroen Jumpy, assembled at the Russian plant, will be presented in two lengths (L2 - 4.95 m and L3 - 5.30 m) and with one version of the body height (up to 1948 mm, depending on the load) . The wheelbase of both versions is 3275 mm. Each of these types of body is available in two versions of the full mass: up to 2.5 tons (versions for operation in metropolitan areas where the entrance to the center for trucks is limited) and more than 3.0 tons. Depending on the modification, the volume of the cargo compartment of the van is from 5.8 to 6.6 cubic meters. Vans Peugeot Expert and Citroen Jumpy of the Russian assembly are equipped with diesel engines in volume of 1,6 l with a mechanical 5-step transmission and 2,0 l, working in pair with a 6-step mechanical transmission. The power of the engines is 90 hp. and 150 hp. respectively. The standard equipment of vans includes a regular solid metal partition at full height of the body, rings for fixing the load in the floor, a right sliding side door and rear swinging doors 50/50. As part of the adaptation to Russian operating conditions, the cars received reinforced suspension and increased ground clearance, metal crankcase protection, pre-starting unprogrammed diesel engine preheater, warming of the windshield rest zone, and a battery of increased capacity. In comparison with imported versions, local models distinguish between standard fog lamps and seat heating, as well as an additional level of equipment (the Citroen Jumpy Business, Peugeot Expert Premium Pack), which differs in the standard Moduwork system (hatch in the partition, reclining passenger seat for transportation of lengthometers) , air conditioning, parking sensors and rain and light sensors. Moreover, thanks to local assembly, for the brand vans new markets, new sales channels are opened. And the planned expansion of the gamma due to the development of a complete model range of transformations will meet the demands of new customers and organizations. Thus, on the basis of commercial vans Peugeot Expert and Citroen Jumpy, the development of passenger (8 + 1, 9 + 1) and cargo-and-passenger (4 + 1, 5 + 1) modifications, refrigerators, armored encashment vehicles, mobile laboratories, social and emergency medical vehicles assistance, etc. The conversion will not only expand the range of products and build a car that exactly matches the customer's wishes, but also cover new areas of business.
